From Stressage to Dressage

11th Nov 2019

Dressage really is the foundation of Equestrian riding upon which all other disciplines can build. So sound flatwork is essential for most riders. Whether simply schooling at home or competing at the Olympics what you want is a horse that concentrates on its rider, isn't distracted and that has the relaxed muscle function for fluid and even exaggerated movement. Chelated calcium can help all of these issues while things like magnesium and sedating herbs can hinder them. Here are a few examples of how our chelated calcium helps horses at a variety of levels.

Every horse on this page has shown improvements in behaviour, concentration and learning. All have fully supplemented but "No Added Magnesium" diets further supplemented with our unique patented chelated calcium.

Laura Tomlinson - Olympic Gold and Bronze

Laura started on our Cool, Calm & Collected (CCC) supplement in January 2012 just seven months ahead of the London Olympics. Alf (Mistral Hojris) had a reputation of getting tense if anything distracted him. That tension could easily cost 5%. Alfs basic diet contained no added magnesium but 10 days prior to show all Laura's horses were fed a "show mix" that did have added magnesium in it. When she started feeding CCC she also stopped using the show mix.

Alf was never a problem at home so Laura only had about three competitions prior to the Olympics to see how he responded to the supplement. The good news is that he coped really well even in some windy outdoor conditions. At at the Olympics he thrived. I especially enjoyed watching his performance in the individual competition wher Laura rode him in a very positive way and he produced an almost fault free performance for the bronze medal. That of course added to the team Gold they had won earlier.

Alf is an example of how CCC is capable of adding that little bit extra - even to one of the very best horses in the world.

Laura has used CCC on her dressage team ever since and continues to do so.

Lara Butler

Lara has been stable jockey for Laura's parents (Wilfried and Ursula Bechtolsheimer) since 2010. And that "job" has included winning British National championships and being travelling reserve for the British team for the Rio Olympic games and World Equestrian Games in Tryon, USA riding Rufus (Rubin Al Asad) (pictured above).

Tracey May

Tracey teaches dressage and her pupils are amateur riders working at the lower and middle levels. Tracey is rightly very proud of her carthorse (her description not mine) Alfie. Alfie is a Gelderlander and when the livery yard ran out of CCC the first Tracey knew of it was when she found herself in a ditch on a hack. She has moved livery yards since!

Tracey persuades a very large number of her clients to feed EquiFeast chelated calcium supplements for three reasons:

1. The horses are happier and easier to train

2. The riders get better value from their lessons

3. Tracey gets far more satisfaction from teaching sensible horses

You can see from the portrait picture that Tracey herself is full of fun. A lesson with Tracey involves a lot of laughter as well as some fabulous, sensitive riding.

Kirsty Imm

Woodlander Sir Gorgeous is a fabulous pony stallion and he clearly demonstrates that you don't have to pump horses full of oil to get a shiny coat. Our magnesium free "Essential Daily Care" feed balancer supplies all the vitamins and trace minerals he needs except chelated calcium which instead comes from Cool, Calm & Collected. The amino acids in EDC also improve protein utilisation helping him to develop that great muscling.

Kirsty is a member of the British Under 25 dressage squad.

Maddy Frewin

Another highly successful young rider and a member of the GB International Squad with Woodlander Rhythm n Blues (not pictured). The picture is of Maddy riding St Giles Shiraz - another example of how non oil supplements can promote excellent coat and muscle.

Stef Eardley

Another trainer. Stef is something of a specialist in Dressage to Music and has been a customer of ours for many, many years. She recently sent us this comment:

"Equifeast is a fantastic company, not just for the effective products but also because the team work very hard to help you find a solution for your horse's needs. The customer service is exceptional and all the team there are horse owners and really relate to you and your horse.

Since feeding Ruxton Pinacolada EquiFeast products her condition and stamina has been noticeably improved - plus her coat positively glows! These products are great because they are highly palatable and the amount you need to feed is small which is a better volume for the horse's stomach to digest.

What really impresses me is that the products are tested by customers and reviewed by Equifeast until they are perfect! Malcolm and his team work very hard to produce top quality products that really suit horses AND get results!

Dara Clancy

Canadian Dara Clancy describe her horse Roch as a "Spookaholic". Now he is calm, focussed and a pleasure to ride - making Dara our biggest advocate in North America.

There are two main products given to most of the horses on this page.

1. Cool, Calm & Collected (Chelated calcium)

2. Essential Daily Care (Vitamins, trace minerals and amino acids). This product is virtually unique in Australia for being magnesium free.

These two are combined and have added joint and mobility support in:

3. WINNINGEDGE

If your horses are affected by oxalate pastures all the above products are available with instructions for your conditions under the BREAK FREE banner.
