British feed firm Dengie have recently produced a great video on the horse's digestive system. It is well worth spending 7 minutes to watch this.
In the UK we love Dengie because they, like us, don't believe in adding artificial magnesium to horse feeds. They are also the main reason why the UK horse feed market moved towards high fibre/low starch diets a number of years before Australia. However you don't need packaged products like Dengie's to make great horse diets without added magnesium. Grass, hay, lucerne (in moderation), beet pulp and copra are just fine supplemented with products like our Essential Daily Care and Cool, Calm & Collected (or BREAK FREE if you are in oxalate areas).
